In these Terms and Conditions:

“Account” means the bank account held or to be held with the Bank in the name of the Cardholder (whether solely or jointly with another person), the number of which is or shall be specified in the application form for the Card and communicated to the Cardholder as appropriate.

“Bank” means Allied Bank Limited.

“Branch” means the branch of Allied Bank Limited which holds the Cardholder’s Account.

“Card” means the Allied UPI/PayPak co-badged Debit Card or Allied Basic Debit Card, including any replacement thereof.

“Cardholder” means the person to whom the Allied UPI/PayPak co-badged Debit Card or Allied Basic Debit Card is issued, and who has the authority to operate the Account in accordance with the Bank’s mandate.

“PayPak” means the domestic payment scheme owned and operated by 1LINK (Pvt.) Ltd, duly approved by the State Bank of Pakistan.

“UPI” means the international payment scheme owned and operated by China UnionPay International.

“PIN” means the Personal Identification Number or an encrypted number which the Cardholder uses from time to time with the Card, and includes the Telephone Personal Identification Number (TPIN), where applicable.

“Transaction” means any cash withdrawal or payment made using the Card or Biometric, or any refund arising in connection with the use of the Card or Biometric in any authorised manner for debit or credit to the Account.

“Biometric” means access to the ATM using a thumb impression.

“e-Commerce” means electronic commerce, i.e., the transaction of making payments for online purchases, and includes both Internet and mobile commerce.
The Card or Biometric access may be used to withdraw money from any Automated Teller Machine (ATM) or to access additional banking services offered through ATMs (e.g., transferring funds locally from one account to another within the Bank or to another bank in Pakistan, as well as making payments for utility or other bills).
The Card may also be used to pay for goods and/or services, whether online (e-Commerce) or at retailers or suppliers:

Internationally, where the UPI logo is displayed, and

Locally, where the PayPak logo is displayed,
subject to compliance with the applicable rules and regulations of UPI and PayPak.
The Cardholder may also avail other Digital Banking services in accordance with the Bank’s mandate. These include, but are not limited to:

IVR facilities

Any other payment services or facilities made available by the Bank for UPI/PayPak co-badged Debit Cardholders
Cardholders may subscribe to these services as per the prevailing procedures of the Bank. The Bank may activate Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) services only for those payment instruments and channels for which the customer’s consent has been obtained.
If the Cardholder uses the Card for payments in foreign currency, such as transactions outside Pakistan (including ATM withdrawals, POS purchases, and e-Commerce transactions), the Cardholder will also be liable for currency conversion charges and service fees, which will be charged upfront at the time of the transaction.
Note: The Bank makes no warranty and assumes no liability or responsibility for any limitations on foreign exchange conversion or availability, whether due to regulations of the State Bank of Pakistan or any other authority.
Important: The Allied Basic Debit Card cannot be used outside Pakistan or for online/e-Commerce transactions.
