A Non-Resident Pakistani is defined as an individual who:

Has not stayed in Pakistan for 183 days or more during the tax year

Is not employed by the Federal or Provincial Government in Pakistan during the tax year
(Reference: Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 – Chapter 5, Division II, Section 82)
Required Documents for NRP Biometric Verification:

Signed Undertaking (Annexure-A)

Proof of NRP status (e.g., valid passport, visa, exit stamp, resident permit)

Copy of valid ID document (CNIC/SNIC/NICOP)

Customer’s account number(s) maintained with the bank
Customers temporarily outside Pakistan for valid reasons and unable to visit for biometric verification must submit:

Reasonable proof of stay abroad (passport, visa, exit stamp, etc.)

A Customer Letter stating reason for absence and expected date of return
Where one account holder is outside Pakistan (temporarily or as an NRP):

Biometric verification shall be conducted individually as per the status of each joint account holder

If one holder is NRP or temporarily abroad, procedures under (1) or (2) above will apply accordingly
