Block Your Card Before Anything Else
⏱ Every minute a stolen card stays active is a window for fraudulent transactions. Allied Bank gives you three ways to block a card instantly choose the one you can access right now.
Open the myABL mobile banking app, log in and navigate to Cards > Debit Card Services. Select the stolen card and choose either a temporary block or a permanent block. A permanent block is the right choice if the card has been stolen rather than misplaced.
The app is available 24/7 on Android and iOS, and the block takes effect immediately. This is the fastest route if your phone is with you.
Call Allied Bank’s 24-hour phone banking service:
Call from your registered mobile number where possible, as this speeds up identity verification. A phone banking agent will block the card on the spot.
Security note: If Allied Phone Banking needs to call you back, the official incoming number will display as 1222. Never share your 4-digit ATM PIN, CVV or OTPs with anyone on a call, regardless of who they claim to be.
Log into myABL internet banking on any browser, go to card management and execute an instant block. This option works well if you are at a computer and cannot access the app.
Dispute Unauthorised Transactions
Once the card is blocked, check whether any fraudulent transactions occurred before you reported the loss. Under ABL’s Zero Loss Liability policy, you are protected against charges made after your report — but transactions that went through before the block are subject to dispute and investigation.
Here is what to do:
The Allied Bank Visa Debit Card Terms and Conditions require you to report irregularities within seven days of the transaction or the date of the account statement, whichever comes later. Delay weakens your claim, so act within this window.
Keep a record of the date and time you reported the card as stolen, the agent’s name or reference number if you called the helpline, and screenshots of suspicious transactions. ABL’s dispute team may ask for this information during the investigation.
Request a Replacement Card
With the stolen card blocked, the next step is getting a new one. Allied Bank offers several options.
Activating Your New Card
Once the replacement card arrives, activate it through one of the following:
Activation options:
- An ABL biometric ATM using your thumb impression
- The self-card activation service on ABL’s website
- The myABL app under card management
- The Allied Bank Helpline at (042) 111-225-225
Important: Do not use the old card after reporting it stolen, even if it turns up later. Cut it in half through the magnetic strip and return it to your branch.
What the Zero Loss Liability Policy Covers
Allied Bank’s Zero Loss Liability policy means you are not held responsible for fraudulent transactions made after you report your card as lost or stolen — provided you follow the reporting process correctly.
Protection depends on two conditions: you must report the loss promptly, and you must not have shared your PIN or OTP with anyone. If a card is used fraudulently because the PIN was disclosed, the bank’s liability policy does not apply. This is why protecting your credentials matters as much as blocking the card itself.
For a full breakdown of your rights and responsibilities, refer to ABL’s debit card guidelines and the card-specific protecting your payment cards page.
