What Are Naya Pakistan Certificates?
Naya Pakistan Certificates are sovereign investment certificates backed by the Government of Pakistan. SBP administers them. You invest in them through your bank — in this case, through Allied Bank’s Naya Pakistan Certificate Investment facility.
They are not mutual funds or equity products. Your capital and profit are tied to the government, not a market index. This makes NPCs one of the lower-risk investment options available to overseas Pakistanis and resident individuals with declared foreign assets.
NPCs are also exempted from Zakat. Premature encashment is allowed. You can even use your certificates as security to access financing facilities, which is useful if you need liquidity before your certificate matures.
