Q1. When is the Membership Fee applied?

The Annual Membership Fee is applied upon issuance and subsequently on each anniversary of the credit card, irrespective of card activation.

Q2. What are the requirements for reversal of the Annual Membership Fee?

• For Gold Cards: Spend a minimum of Rs. 25,000/- within three (03) months.

• For Platinum Cards: Spend a minimum of Rs. 50,000/- within three (03) months.

Q3. Do I need to inform Allied Bank while traveling abroad to activate my credit card for international use?

Yes, you must notify Allied Bank via the helpline and request activation for International POS/ATM transactions. Additionally, if required, you must also activate fallback to magnetic stripe transactions.

Q4. What is fallback to magnetic stripe transactions?

In Pakistan, merchants are required to conduct only chip-based transactions to prevent skimming fraud. If your card’s chip does not work, or if a merchant abroad does not have a chip-enabled POS machine, your card may perform transactions using the magnetic stripe. To use this feature outside Pakistan, you must activate the fallback to magnetic stripe facility.

Q5. Is there any capping for usage of the credit card abroad?

Yes, as per SBP (State Bank of Pakistan) regulations, an annual limit of USD 30,000 is set for card-based cross-border transactions (ATM, POS & e-Commerce). Ensure your usage remains within this limit.

Q6. Do I need to activate e-Commerce transactions for my Credit Card?

No. The e-Commerce/online transaction facility for both local and international merchants is already activated on your credit card.

Q7. What information is required to conduct an online transaction?

You will need the following:

• Valid Credit Card Number

• CVV (3-digit Card Verification Value on the back of the card)

• Credit Card Expiry Date

• OTP (One Time Password, for Verified by Visa websites only)

Q8. How do I shop online with my Allied Visa Credit Card?

1. Start your transaction at an e-Commerce merchant and input your Visa Credit Card details.

2. For Verified by Visa (VBV) merchants, you’ll be redirected to the Allied Bank VBV screen to select the OTP delivery channel (registered mobile number or email).

3. You’ll receive a 6-digit OTP via the selected channel, which must be entered to complete the transaction.

Q9. How long is the OTP valid?

The OTP is valid for 5 minutes. After expiry, you can re-generate it by clicking the link on the payment screen, which returns you to the OTP selection screen.

Q10. Will I receive an OTP for all online shopping transactions?

OTP is mandatory for all VBV-compliant merchants. For non-compliant merchants, an OTP will not be sent.

Q11. What should I do if I receive an OTP for a transaction not performed by me?

Do not share the OTP with anyone. Immediately call Allied Phone Banking at 042-111-225-225 to report it.

Q12. Will I be notified upon successful completion of a transaction?

Yes. A transaction alert will be sent to your registered mobile number and/or email address, if you are enrolled for this service.

Q13. What should I do if I am charged for a transaction not performed by me?

Visit your nearest branch or call Allied Phone Banking at 042-111-225-225 to register a dispute within 90 days of the transaction date.

Q14. Can I use my Allied Visa Credit Card for business or commercial needs?

No. Commercial use of the card is prohibited. Use your card for personal needs only. For business transactions, apply for Corporate Credit Cards.

Q15. How do I gain access to Priority Pass Airport Lounges?

Present your Priority Pass card at any participating airport lounge abroad to enjoy premium services and a comfortable environment before your flight in foreign countries. Each visit will be charged at the actual rate applicable as per Priority Pass Pvt Ltd SOC (please refer to the latest Schedule of Charges for current rates).
