myABL WhatsApp Banking Subscription Fee
Following a revision to WhatsApp Business messaging pricing by Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, Allied Bank is introducing a monthly subscription fee for myABL WhatsApp Banking.
With effect from 19 October 2026, a monthly subscription fee plus applicable taxes, shall apply to myABL WhatsApp Banking in accordance with the Bank’s applicable Schedule of Charges.
The customer shall be provided with a free-look period of 15 days commencing from the date of providing fresh and verifiable consent to the paid service. During the free-look period, the customer may unsubscribe without any charge by selecting the “Unsubscribe” option in myABL WhatsApp Banking. Any subscription fee recovered during this period shall be reversed within the applicable regulatory timeframe.
Upon expiry of the free-look period, the monthly subscription fee plus applicable taxes will be recovered from an eligible active account maintained by the customer with Allied Bank, in accordance with the customer’s consent and the Bank’s applicable Schedule of Charges.
The customer may unsubscribe from myABL WhatsApp Banking at any time by selecting the “Unsubscribe” option. Unsubscribing will discontinue access to myABL WhatsApp Banking and prevent the recovery of future subscription fees.
If the subscription fee cannot be recovered when due, the customer will be immediately unsubscribed from myABL WhatsApp Banking and further banking services will not be served through WhatsApp. Re-registration is subject to the applicable consent and subscription requirements.
Fair Usage Policy
A customer may make one successful Balance Inquiry and one successful Mini Statement request per calendar day, subject to a maximum of 10 successful requests for each service per calendar month. The limits apply separately to each service and are calculated per registered customer across all linked accounts.
Daily transaction limit will reset 24 hours after customer start using WhatsApp Banking.. Monthly allowances reset at 12:00 a.m. on the first day of each calendar month. Unused allowances do not carry forward.
Once a limit is reached, the affected service will be unavailable through WhatsApp Banking until the relevant allowance resets. Other available WhatsApp Banking services remain accessible, subject to an active subscription.
General Terms
- “Bank” refers to Allied Bank Limited and/or its successors/assignees.
- “Customer” or “Account Holder” refers to the person interacting with the Bank via WhatsApp.
- “WhatsApp” is a communication application provided by WhatsApp Inc.
- “myABL WhatsApp Banking Service” refers to banking services provided via WhatsApp using 0300 1225225.
- “Controller” means an entity (person/legal/government) with authority to make decisions about a customer’s personal data.
- “Processor” is any person/entity who processes personal data on behalf of the Controller.
- “Processing” includes all operations on personal data such as collection, storage, sharing, or deletion.
- “Third Party” refers to anyone other than the customer, processor, or data controller.
Registered Customer Number: The mobile number registered by the customer with the Bank.
Device: Any mobile, tablet, or computer used to access WhatsApp and banking services.
These terms form an agreement between the Bank and the customer for using myABL WhatsApp Banking Services, to be read along with ABL’s general account terms. The Bank may suspend services or impose limits without prior notice if the customer violates these terms.
The Bank may update these terms in accordance with applicable requirements. Changes will be communicated through the applicable customer-notification process. Continued use does not replace any fresh consent required for the paid service or a material change. If the customer disagrees, they may unsubscribe from the service.
The customer agrees that the Bank will process and share personal data (if required) to fulfill service requests, and this may involve third-party processors. The customer consents to data processing through WhatsApp, a cloud-based service outside Pakistan, with encrypted communication.
Customers can unsubscribe from services and request to halt data processing, but this will take effect after the Bank processes the request. The Bank will not be liable for actions taken before service cancellation is confirmed.
All services are subject to State Bank of Pakistan regulations, Pakistani laws, ABL policies, and WhatsApp’s policies. Pakistani courts will have jurisdiction.
Customers must not reverse engineer the service. While the Bank strives to offer reliable services, it offers no guarantees regarding performance, speed, or availability. The Bank and its affiliates shall not be liable for damages from service use, delays, or interruptions caused by events beyond its control (e.g., natural disasters, outages, or pandemics).
Customers must ensure their devices and operating systems are compatible with WhatsApp services and upgrade software as needed. The Bank is not responsible for compatibility issues.
The customer authorizes the Bank to access accounts and share information with third parties for service execution. Post-registration via OTP, the Bank will treat all requests from the registered mobile number as genuine.
Although messages are encrypted, the customer understands the risk of interception or misuse and agrees that the Bank is not responsible for such consequences.
If changing devices, customers are advised to delete WhatsApp to avoid misuse. The Bank is not liable for any loss due to failure to do so.
The customer accepts that WhatsApp or related providers may monitor communications, and the Bank is not responsible for data shared on the platform.
The Bank’s interpretation of these Terms & Conditions shall be binding on the customer/Account Holder(s).
I/We confirm that I/we have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions, including the subscription fee and applicable taxes, the 15-day free-look provision, and the separate daily and monthly fair usage limits for Balance Inquiry and Mini Statement.
