What Is WhatsApp Banking?
WhatsApp banking in Pakistan allows customers to manage everyday banking tasks through a WhatsApp chat instead of visiting a branch or calling a customer service centre. Allied Bank offers this through myABL WhatsApp Banking, built on Pakistan’s most widely used messaging app.
Customers save one verified number and message it like they would a friend. The bank replies within seconds, guiding users through a simple on-screen menu. The entire conversation is encrypted end-to-end, which protects customer privacy and data safety.
Benefits of Using myABL WhatsApp Banking
Allied Bank designed this service around convenience, security and cost. The main benefits are:
How to Start Using myABL WhatsApp Banking
Getting started takes less than a minute. Follow these steps:
This is the only official number for the service, and it carries a green verified badge. Allied Bank does not offer WhatsApp banking through any other number, so always confirm the badge before sharing any details.
Registration Requirements
Registration is not needed just to explore the menu. However, a one-time registration is triggered the moment you request Account Balance, Mini Statement or Mobile Top-Up.
During registration, you will enter the last four digits of your CNIC and accept the terms and conditions. Allied Bank will never ask you to share your full card number, account details, password or PIN at any stage of this process.
All individual accounts and joint accounts with “either or survivor” instructions are eligible for the service. If you ever change your registered mobile number with Allied Bank, you will need to complete registration again on the new number.
Services Available Through myABL WhatsApp Banking
Balance Inquiry and Mini Statement
Customers can check the balance of every linked account by tapping Account Balance in the main menu. A Mini Statement option shows recent transaction history within seconds, without needing to log into the app.
Fund Transfers and RAAST Payments
myABL WhatsApp Banking supports three ways to move money to saved beneficiaries: FT (Funds Transfer within Allied Bank), IBFT (Inter Bank Funds Transfer) and RAAST.
To use this feature for the first time, financial services must be activated from the myABL App under Settings by turning on “WhatsApp Financial Service.”
Sending a transfer follows a short, guided flow:
Bill Payment and Mobile Top-Up
Bill Payments and Mobile Top-Up
Customers can pay utility bills, credit card bills and Telco postpaid bills to saved billers directly from the chat menu.
Mobile Top-Up must first be enabled through the myABL App, under Settings by activating “WhatsApp Financial Service.” Once active, prepaid mobile numbers already added in the app can be recharged from as little as PKR 100 up to PKR 5,000 per day. Postpaid mobile bills cannot currently be paid through this feature, and new billers must be added through the app first before they appear as options on WhatsApp.
If you run into any issues mid-transaction, customer support is available around the clock through the Live Chat option inside myABL WhatsApp Banking.
Account Services
Under Account Services, customers can request several documents and updates directly through chat:
Letter of Guarantee Verification
Anyone, whether registered on WhatsApp Banking or not, can verify a Letter of Guarantee issued by Allied Bank. Send “Hi” to the official WhatsApp number, select Other Services from the menu, tap Verify Bank Guarantee, and enter the CNIC and LG number to confirm its authenticity and details.
Pay Order Verification
Verifying an Allied Bank Pay Order works the same way and is also open to non-registered users. Send “Hi” to the official WhatsApp number, select Other Services, tap Verify Pay Order, and enter the PO number and amount to get its current status.
Dormant Account Activation
Customers can reactivate a dormant account directly through WhatsApp. Send “Hi” to the official number, go to Account Services, select Activate Dormant A/C, choose the account from the list, and submit the request. Once verification is complete, an instant confirmation message is sent on WhatsApp.
Dormant pensioner accounts and joint accounts cannot currently be activated through this feature. If no dormant accounts appear in the list, it means no accounts linked to your profile or WhatsApp number are currently marked as dormant.
Change Language Preference
myABL WhatsApp Banking currently supports English and Urdu. Customers can switch between the two at any time by going to Other Services → Change Language. English is the default language, and switching within WhatsApp Banking only changes the language of the bank’s messages — it does not affect the overall WhatsApp application settings on your phone.
Other Services
These features are open to both ABL customers and non-customers:
Is myABL WhatsApp Banking Safe?
Security sits at the centre of this service. Allied Bank will never ask for your card number, account details, password or PIN through WhatsApp. Only the last four digits of your CNIC are collected, and only during the one-time registration step.
Downloadable files, including account statements, WHT certificates and maintenance certificates, arrive as password-protected PDFs. This keeps sensitive documents safe even if a device is later lost or shared. Although messages are encrypted, customers should still stay alert, since no digital channel is completely free of risk.
Customers are also advised to remove WhatsApp from a device before switching phones or handing a device over to someone else. This reduces the chance of the account being accessed by someone other than the registered user.
Terms and Conditions You Should Know
Using myABL WhatsApp Banking means accepting a set of terms that sit alongside Allied Bank’s general account terms. The points below summarise the main ideas in plain language; the official version remains the governing document.
